You Don’t Have to Stay Stressed

Over the past week  I have had a number of challenges that have taxed my emotions, my stress level, and my energy.  But through it all I learned that which I’ve heard many times – that things really do settle down and get better.  It makes no sense remaining stuck in a mindset that doesn’t propel you forward.  Through it all, I made a choice to socialize with friends on prearranged outings when most would have opted to cancel.   Some of the things that have happened over this past week haven’t disappeared or gone away but what has made the difference is the way I changed my outlook on how I felt about some of the things that happened and I began to smile and feel better as I took hold of my own choice to be proactive through the situations. I must come out the winner.  That is my mindset.

You see, things will happen! There will be some things that you can’t control and some things that others control…if you let them. Another person’s actions can have a detrimental affect on your peace and your daily functioning.  You have a choice to either succumb to it all or let it go.  Today I encourage you to LET IT GO. Your peace and your happiness are of utmost importance to YOU.

Amen! Remain in a positive frame of mind always. My hope is in God and I trust Him. In this world full of chaos, disappointment and trials…He is my source of strength. He has carried me and He is reliable. Remember people will often fail us but keeping love and joy in your heart is the key. Only God knows the plans He has for us. Keep doing good deeds and know that the trials are tests of our faith and it will pass.

Self-care is so very important and letting go of things that do not bring any value to your life is also very important. Thanks for sharing and caring enough to encourage others to take time out to reflect on their lives and decide what’s really important to them. You are a great motivator and role model to so many women. I pray God’s richest blessing over your life! I got yea back in prayer always.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

I’m so proud of you for letting it go. We can’t allow others bad situations control our happiness.

There are times that we will be mixed in a situation and it causes our emotions to rise. But if the root of the situation lies with someone else we need to stay our distance and work out how to remove ourselves so that we don’t get consumed by someone else’s drama.

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer and don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is doing.

Move on in peace sis.

The storms that I have endured at times, felt so overwhelming to me. At times it became so rough that I felt like giving up and giving in. It is during those times that I held on to my faith and keep pressing forward. I wasn’t designed to be a failure. I overcame the obstacles in front of me as I stayed at the wicket. Having said that, I will continue to press forward. Our God has made me realize over and over that there’s light at the end of the tunnel and through patience the storm will eventually end.

I absolutely agree. Let it go and move ahead with your life as your happiness is paramount. In 2017 I was tested beyond what I thought I could handle and some of those that I thought would support me walked away but I didn’t let that affect me instead I persevered and with God Almighty every thing worked out the way He ordained it.

I totally agree. I thank God for giving us the opportunity to choose how we react to situations. I used to let EVERYTHING get to me until I started asking myself why I was giving things so much power. I quickly realized that me becoming stressed was a habitual behaviour that I needed to unlearn.

When I feel some form of stress coming on now, I immediately start to dissect the situation to find a lesson within it. I stopped giving it power because finding a lesson always makes me feel much better. I learn something new and beautiful about myself every time. Once I realized and harnessed the power of choice, life changed.

The saying goes “ you can’t always control how people treat you but you can choose how to react when they do! Shawnette I have learned the hard way to let it go! I used to get in a ruffle and carry bitter baggage! Even though it may not last long I had to find another way to deal with stuff or issues!
What I do now is to stop and think how I can react better, I look inside check myself and truly let it go! I won’t do for me to react to anything that’s beyond
My control! When I let go, immediately i feel peace!!!

Ms. Shawnette, this thing called LIFE, can be a roller coaster ride for real. It will never be a smooth road TOTALLY, and every individual is fighting something you know nothing about, so you are NOT ALONE. BUT when we are having to face difficulty and challenges, personally I first of all PRAY about the situation, make a decision not to STRESS, but ask God to lead me and give me the strength to cope. Trouble don’t last always and there is always a LIGHT at the end of that tunnel. Challenges will MAKE YOU or BREAK YOU. Choose to allow challenges to make you a stronger individual. Learn to repeat to self, “Trouble don’t last always, this too shall pass, and I will be victorious with the outcome” God promised never to leave us or forsake us. WE just need to remain FAITHFUL and POSITIVE…….BLESSINGS!!

To add to my comment. Sometimes, all you need is for someone just to be there, even if they can’t solve your problem. Knowing they CARE, makes a difference !!!

Thank you for sharing this Shawnette. There are some things we can only learn in a storm/ bad situation but what’s important is dusting yourself up and moving on. I always remind myself that stars shine in darkness and every challenge that comes my way I will overcome . There’s a saying that goes if there’s a Goliath in front of you that means there’s a David inside of you, we are more than conquerors and we will overcome. The life in front of us is far more important than the life behind us.

I used to inwardly melt when things went wrong. Now, I laugh them off. I make myself experience the learning first.
Sometimes it is frustrating, yes, but not letting things overwhelm, has taught me the greater lesson, that just because things go wrong, it’s not the ed of the world.
